Web 2 - Additional Course Description
For this Class Web 2 students are expected to follow along with Web 1 students through the completion of Project 2 “The Art of the GIF”. After submitting a New Gif and a link to their new website Web 2 students are expected to complete 3 (three) Independent Projects over the course of the semester as well as completing a professional quality web portfolio. Given that Web 2 students have already completed Web 1 they are expected to work at a higher level and present work of a more refined quality than Web 1 students.
Web 2 students may also take-on additional projects if their schedule permits.
If the Web 2 student is unable to work independently or cannot demonstrate proficiency with the tools provided they may be asked to follow the Web 1 curriculum.
Each independent project must abide by the following criteria:
Before embarking on each independent project Web 2 students must conceptualize their approach and present a project proposal to the class and instructor in the form of a single page published on their website. This page should include:
-
A clearly written description explaining you concept. This must include a story outline and a description of what sort of interactivity the piece will have.
-
Answer questions like: Will you be creating an interactive website? Will you be creating an augmented reality experience? Or, will you be introducing us to another form of interactive multimedia?
-
Include Images that set the mood and illustrate the family of colors, textures, even sounds your work will contain. (Google "Mood Board" for examples.)
-
In addition, you may also provide a link to an inspirational web site if this will help convey your approach.
-
Will you be incorporating animated titles, Video, GIFs and sound design? Include examples on the web page.
Each plan must be given the “go ahead” by both instructor and class before beginning the project.
See Schedule for a preliminary project completion outline.
