The purpose of this project is for students to explore how hypertext literature can transform a linear literary experience to nonlinear exploratory experience.
Topics for critique:
Did the author’s “choices” provide you with a rich, exploratory experience – or did you feel like you were just clicking through consecutive pages?
What about craftsmanship? Was there much attention given to punctuation, spelling and grammar? How did this affect your experience with the story?
Was the story “text heavy”? How did this affect your experience?
Did the choice of music enhance the experience? How so?
Did the page along with the image and music/sound design effectively set the tone for the story?
How are the elements (the twine text, image and sound file) arranged on the page? Did this composition enhance or hinder your experience?
Were there “dead ends” that frustrated you? Or did they enhance to the experience in some way?
Did the story hold your interest? Why or why not?
Consider the audience:
Is this a story for children 6 to 12? Horror fans? Gammer Fans? Who would be interested in this story? Who would't be interested?
Point of View:
Who's point of view will the story be told from? What is the user's relationship to the other character(s) in the narrative? How do the user's choices impact or shape the outcome of the story?
