Adding your Twine story to your WIX site.
Prepare your WIX page:
Open your WIX site editor.
Create a special page on your site just for your Twine story. Ad a background and/or images that serve to illustrate your story. Incorporating an instrumental soundtrack that plays when the page is opened will further enhance the user's experience.
Click the + (add) on the left – go to “more” on the bottom and then select the “HTML” icon.
A grey box should appear along with a button labeled “enter code”.
The WIX page is now ready to receive the Twine HTML code
Preparing to copy the Twine HTML code:
On the HOME “stories” page, click the gear icon on the story you want to publish and then select “publish to file’ – save the file to your desktop (or a folder on your computer)
Open the file in Chrome – the story should appear just as it did in Twine
In Chrome’s top menu bar select view/developer/view source.
Copy everything – everything!
Adding the HTML to WIX:
Return to the WIX editor and click “enter code” - another box should appear.
Paste the HTML code you just copied into the box provided.
Click “update” and in a few moments your Twine story will appear in the grey box.
Resize the Twine Box to your liking and then save/publish your site.
(Extra) Saving the Twine HTML story so you can work on another computer:
On the HOME “stories” page, click the gear icon on the story you want to publish and then select “publish to file’ – this saves the HTML file to the download folder on the computer. Transfer the HTML file to a removable storage device.
Open twine on another computer - either on-line or a version you've saved on your computer.
On the Story page, in the right side of the screen - select "import from file" and the choose your file.
Your story should open and be added to the list of stories on the story page.
