Week 1, 

TH 1/23 First Day

Introductions: Review syllabus and class website

Begin Project 1: Set-up WIX site for everyone

Begin Project 2: GIF Workshop w/Photoshop tutorial 

Homework:  Email me your new website URL + include your name and the name of the class

 

Week 2, 

T 1/28 GIF Workshop - review favorite websites.

TH 1/30 Finish GIF - Project 2 must be completed by end of class.

Homework: Have your preliminary website ready to show as well as your 6 GIFS. Publish links to one or 2 websites that you “like” on your site and be ready to talk a little about why

Web 2 students have your preliminary website, 6 GIFS as well as a 1 page proposal for your first independent project published to your site. Be ready to answer questions and show examples to give the class an idea of where you’re headed

 

Week 3, 

T 2/4  GIF Critiques and turn in your favorite GIF file to Neil (on flash drive) for posting to class website

Begin Project 3, Audio Narratives and Podcasts

Listen to examples of professional and student work + Digital Audio recorder Tutorial

Homework: Record some material for your Audio Narrative so you're ready to start editing next class

Web 2 students will make presentations for Independent project #1.

TH 2/6 Audio Narratives and Podcasts Workshops + Garageband Tutorial

Week 4, 

T 2/11 Audio Narratives and Podcasts Workshop.

TH 2/13 Audio Narratives and Podcasts Workshop.

 

Week 5, 

T 2/18 Finish Audio Narratives and Podcasts - Project 3 must be completed, rendered, uploaded and published to your web site by end of class

TH 2/20 Critique Audio Narratives and Soundscapes 

Begin Project 4, Text Based Interactive Stories Using Twine

Homework: Explore the Twine examples and plan your Twine story

 

Week 6, 

T 2/25 Twine Workshops

TH 2/27 Finish Twine - Project 4 must be completed, uploaded to and embedded on a page on your web site. This page should have a background image and sound design that sets the "mood" of your story

 

Week 7, 

T 3/3  Critique Twine

Begin Project 5, Video Ventures. Watch examples of student and professional work. Review shooting/image capture techniques

Homework: Record and or research material and plan your video project over break

Web 2 students will present completed Independent Project #1 and make presentations for Independent Project #2
