Adding an animated GIF to Zappar

Decide on the object you will be augmenting. The tracking surface should be a flat and keep in mind that the Zappar studio ap will only track squares and rectangles. Zappar Studio works best on flat surfaces like: the back of a milk carton cereal or cracker box, a playing card, a poster or a business card.  Your going to create your own artwork that you either apply to the surface of a preexisting object (like a cracker box) or your going to create a 100% unique piece, like your own business card or playing card.

Now, you need to make sure that the aspect ratio of the augmented content FITS the aspect ratio of the rectangle it will be embedded in.

Example: Lets say you want to embed virtual content into the 100% of a 11 x 17 poster. You must create content that is 11" x 17" x 72 ppi - or 5.5" x 8.5 - smaller screen and resolution but the same aspect ratio. Maybe you want to fill  a square box that sits in the middle of a business card. Well, a square is square! make it 5" x 5" or 10" x 10" - just be sure you make the ppi 72 and not 300!

Create an animated GIF with Photoshop that "fits" the surface that will be tracked. This GIF could be made of appropriated video, an illustration, a photo – anything.

When finished, save the GIF as export the GIF as a video – file/export/render video (not web for legacy).

Go to Zappar and upload your video. You can make it play in a loop, or just once.

Download a Zapcode and ad the code to your Photoshop file. Save it as a jpeg.

In Zappar, click edit tracking image – upload the jpeg you just made with the zapcode.

Preview in Zappar and resize your image.

Print the jpeg. Tweek as necessary.

Add sound and buttons if you’d like!
